Carissa Rawson is a personal finance and credit cards expert who has spent the last five years helping consumers make informed decisions.

When she's not planning elaborate trips using points and miles, she can be found sipping coffee and writing for publications such as Forbes, The Balance, and The Points Guy. Before launching a career as a journalist, she spent seven years in the US Air Force as an Arabic translator, which included a deployment with special forces. 

Carissa is usually on a plane somewhere, but is based in San Diego, California.
