Melkorka was a senior features reporter at Business Insider, focused on in-depth profiles and investigations. She covered the culture of wealth and money and how it intersects with crime and injustice. 

She previously worked as an enterprise and features reporter at the New York Post, where she wrote profiles and exposés about New Yorkers and offbeat trends. Melkorka has appeared on the Investigation Discovery channel, and was interviewed by BBC Radio, iHeartRadio, SiriusXM, and more about her reporting. 

She graduated from The Evergreen State College where she was editor-in-chief of The Cooper Point Journal.
