Olivia Oran was Executive Editor, Audience (Off-Platform) at Business Insider. She was in charge of increasing the reach and diversity of Business Insider's audience by making its journalism more discoverable. across social, search, and syndication.
She worksedclosely with leaders across the newsroom, video, business development, SEO, analytics, and product teams to develop and implement data-driven strategies for packaging and distribution.
That includes overseeing social, editorial partnerships, and content strategy for platforms including Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Apple, MSN, and Yahoo, and Insider's video distribution strategy for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Snapchat.
She also worked closely with our business teams to develop external partnerships and execute growth strategies.
Olivia was previously Head of Editorial Subscription Strategy where she was in charge of growth efforts in the newsroom for Insider's consumer subscription business.
She also served as deputy executive editor, subscriptions, where she led teams of reporters and editors covering finance, real estate, investing, markets, healthcare, legal and energy.
Prior to joining BI in April 2018, she spent six years at Reuters where she covered large Wall Street banks, as well as mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance among healthcare, consumer, and retail companies. She previously covered technology news at TheStreet and Mergermarket. Olivia began her career as an investment banker at JPMorgan working with technology and media companies.
