The MotoGP season officially kicked off with the Grand Prix of Thailand. The season will span 22 grand prix across 19 countries, making it the biggest MotoGP season to date. The year will end with the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia in November.
Two riders to keep an eye on this season are Jorge Martín and Francesco Bagnaia, who were neck-and-neck in the top two positions throughout the 2024 season. Martín was crowned world champion in 2024, while Bagnaia bagged the title in 2023 and 2022. However, Martín will sit out the start of the season due to injury, according to the BBC. Marc Márquez has also made a splash at the start of the season, winning both the Thailand and Argentina GPs. His brother, Alex Márquez, finished second in both races.
The events typically happen over the weekend, with several practices leading up to the ultimate MotoGP race on Sunday (which is sometimes Saturday, depending on where you are in the world).
