These are the most buzzed about new works of art, just in time for Armory Arts Week, the major contemporary art event that kicks off in New York City today.
"House" (2013), by Julie Cockburn, is a found photograph that the artist hand-embroidered over. The piece will show at the Armory Show in New York.
"Perimeter Studies" (Icosahedron; 2012) by artist Conrad Shawcross is made of four aluminum sculptures that are 50 x 50 x 50 cm each. The sculptures, which seem to reference science, will show at the Armory Show in New York.

Chinese artist Ai Wei Wei's "Sunflower Seeds" is comprised of over 100 million hand-painted ceramic sunflower seeds made by 1,600 people. The installation originally premiered at the Tate in London, but made a splash in the New York art world when it showed at the Mary Boone Gallery last year.
This taxidermied deer head by Peter Gronquist was a favorite at the Scope art fair in Miami.

Last year, the Gagosian Gallery held a worldwide exhibition that showcased nearly all of Damien Hirst's signature spot paintings called “The Complete Spot Paintings 1986–2011." The exhibition at all eleven Gagosian locations including New York, London, Paris, Athens, and Hong Kong.
The San Francisco Bay Bridge became a giant art installation when New York artist Leo Villareal installed 25,000 separate LED lights on the 1.8-mile-long bridge. The $8 million project, which debuted on March 5, will be on display daily from dusk to 2 a.m. for the next two years.
