Lily Alig

Editor, Home and Kitchen

Lily Alig is the kitchen expert for Business Insider Reviews. As the section’s editor, she has been covering kitchen tools, small appliances, and gourmet food since joining BI in 2020.

Experience

Lily joined the Reviews team as a fellow, and has since been both a reporter and an editor. In her role as kitchen editor on the Reviews team, Lily writes and edits articles to help expert and novice cooks navigate the kitchen. From garlic presses to pellet smokers, she has spent her journalism career helping readers optimize their cooking experience at home.

Why you can trust Lily

Lily uses her interviews with professional chefs and hands-on testing experience (ask her about making 50 waffles in one day) to find the absolute best kitchen products.

Living in a studio apartment in Brooklyn, NY, she knows preserving space and saving money are important considerations. She is most proud of growing the budget-focused and beginner-friendly coverage in the kitchen reviews space. In her work, she has learned that it’s more important to have fresh coffee grounds than a $1,000 coffee maker and one sharp chef’s knife is more useful than any knife block set. Her goal is to make it accessible and affordable to cook and enjoy good food.
